【about design】 A shawl in a highly textured popcorn pattern resembling bobbles, worked with two colors of fingering weight yarn. This stitch pattern combines two rows worked with three strands and two rows with a single strand and their alternation creates this textured fabric. Three strands are prepared from one skein, so you don’t need to have three different skeins to knit with yarn held triple. You first knit the bottom border, then start the popcorn pattern at the bottom corner and work upwards with short rows. With no increases in the popcorn part, once you get familiar with the pattern, you will not have to refer to the instructions to go on. The sample uses fingering weight yarns and results in a 100 cm / 39.5” wingspan. The pattern provides tips to work with various weight yarns and different gauges and to achieve your preferred sizes. Hope you enjoy! ―Midori Hirose 【about pattern】 English text pattern/PDF only.
